Voices on the Wind Placid Voices
DELICIOUS by Leslie Clark I wake up anticipating some unnamed treat, then remember, today’s the day. The Sunday paper is delicious. There it sits on the table, layers ruffled along the edges like melt-in-the-mouth puff pastry, tasty morsels enfolded within. Slowly, I peel back the wrappings to reveal bright comics in hues of juicy ripe fruit, tempting store ads, glossy as polished apples, a menu for the week’s TV, mouth - watering home decor, editorials slathered with honey or worded with a peppery bite. I sit down with my coffee cup And consume it all, savoring until I’m full.
